Social Worker - Youth Justice/Adult Protection
Overview

Burnett County is accepting applications for a full-time social worker to provide services for Youth Justice as well as Adult Protection cases. Duties include on-going case management, assessing needs of the individual and families, placement determinations, making court recommendations, and collaborating with community resources. This position will also participate in a 24-hour juvenile intake on-call rotation.

  • Status:      Full-Time - 37.5 Hours/Week   
  • Wage:       $27.00/Hour DOQ plus excellent Fringe Benefits

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required at the time of hire or for the continuation of employment.

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling or closely related field and possess current certification as a Social Worker in the State of Wisconsin.  An individual holding a current Wisconsin Social Work Training Certificate can be considered.  Two years of post-graduation professional case work at the type and level consistent with a County Human Services Social Worker. A Master’s Degree in Social Work may be substituted for one year of the experience requirement.
  • Ability to pass required background checks
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Wisconsin Driver's license

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to meet and deal with public and to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with staff and members of the public.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in approaching situations and making decisions
  • Ability to prepare and maintain clear and accurate records and reports
  • Ability to carry out directions and implement programs and policies set forth by governing committees
