Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator
Overview
Under the direction of the County Conservationist, the AIS Coordinator is responsible to work on behalf of the County and in cooperation with the WI DNR and other agencies/partners on a comprehensive AIS program.  This includes, but is not limited to, inventory and evaluation; monitoring/controlling current or potential invasives and leading a rapid response effort for any new infestations.  This position is also responsible for watercraft inspection, lake monitoring assistance to lake associations and townships, grant writing, supporting enforcement of the Burnett County Aquatic Invasive Species Ordinance and any other aspects of an invasive species program that may arise.

Job Description
Position:                   Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator
Location:                  Burnett County Government Center 
Status:                       Limited-Term - Position is a maximum of  1463 hours per year
Hourly Wage:          Minimum of $17.00

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a natural resource field
  • One or more years relevant work experience
  • Strong commitment to healthy lakes and to solving environmental problems through partnerships
  • Demonstrated experience in building networks and coordinating projects with multiple stakeholders; experience and skills with conflict management beneficial
  • Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and access to a vehicle for job use if needed
