Meal Program Aide
The purpose of this position is to stay consistent with home delivered meal assessments & reassessments as required for the Elderly Nutrition Program which falls under the Older American’s Act.

The Meal Program Aide will be responsible for  assessments and period re-assessments of clients referred for home delivered meals; special projects as assigned by the ADRC Aging Unit Supervisor; and, provide back-up for senior dining at one of our Burnett sites (due to emergency/sickness).  This position would be flexible with an average of 10-15 hours/week.  Hourly wage is $10.50.

  • Conducts initial assessments and reassessments to determine eligibility, needs and risk for persons in need of home delivered meals as required by county, state and federal requirements.
  • Special projects as assigned by the ADRC Aging Unit Supervisor
  • Provide back-up for senior dining cooking due to unforeseen circumstance.  (sickness/emergency)
  • Attends staff meetings and training workshops

  • Must have current Food Manager Certification or willing to become certified within 6 months of hire date
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Must have a good rapport with the elderly
  • Basic cooking skills for large groups
  • Ability to read and write legibly
  • Computer experience helpful
  • Knowledge of Wisconsin Elderly Nutrition Program local, state, county and federal policies, procedures
  • Knowledge of programs and services available to elderly and disabled through the ADRC of NW WI
  • Ability to plan and organize effectively
  • Ability to complete records promptly and accurately
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to openly offer feedback to improve and enhance the meals on wheels service
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to relate to clients and act as an advocate
