Social Worker - Children & Families

Our skilled team is seeking a qualified and motivated individual for a Full-Time Social Worker position with the Children & Families Unit to provide services for Juvenile Justice and CPS families.  The Social Work team maintains a great working relationship with our community partners, and enjoys an open and creative work atmosphere while receiving collaborative support from co-workers and supervisors.  Duties include on-going case management, needs assessment of the families, placement determinations, court recommendations, collaboration with community resources, and receipt/documentation of abuse and neglect referrals.  This position will also participate in a 24-hour Juvenile Intake on-call rotation.

Requirements include a Bachelors Degree from an accredited Social Work program or closely related field, Wisconsin Certification as a Social Worker or eligibility for certification, a valid driver’s license, working knowledge of social work principles, ethics and boundaries, and familiarity with Chapters 48 and 938 of the Wisconsin Children’s Code. Knowledge of the EWISACWIS computer system and County Child Protection and Juvenile Justice experience is preferred.

Juvenile Intake and Social work foundation training is required for those who have not completed it.  County paid training includes:  30 hours of continuing education every cycle (2 years), HIPAA, Fraud, Abuse and Waste Prevention, Civil Rights Compliance, and Blood Borne Pathogens training.
